Town Working Groups

The Town Working Groups have been set up to provide a platform for Towns to share their experiences, and learn from peers across the country. Each of the groups meeting approximately every 6 weeks to discuss a variety of topics, and learn from our Subject Matter Experts.

We have also set up a Slack forum for the Town Working Groups, to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing. For those Towns that are members of the Working Groups, please read our quick guide on How to use Slack.


The Groups

You’ve told us via your Town Coordinators that you would like to collaborate more with other towns with similar objectives, challenges or geographical characteristics. In order to share lessons learned and insights throughout the development of your TIP and business cases, we are proposing to set up a series of working groups. The groups cover the following themes:

  • Port Towns

  • Coastal towns

  • Tourism

  • University towns

  • Industrial heritage

  • Digital opportunities

  • Evidence and evaluation

  • Markets

  • Masterplanning and urban design

  • Active travel

  • Clean growth and net zero
