The panel of brilliant people who are going to make a difference

What is the aim of the panel?

The core objective of this panel is to look at equality, diversity, inclusion and sustainable growth and to develop an action plan which will be presented to Central Government in October. It is focused not just on listening but on action. Panellists will also have the chance to:

  • Build professional relationships

  • Learn from each other and from other towns

  • Influence decision-making at local and national levels

  • Provide feedback on the Towns Fund programme

TFDP will ensure that panellists come from diverse backgrounds. The panel will be chaired by Kate Willard OBE.

How to get involved? Details on how to apply

The panel is geared towards those in their early career. We want panellists to come from the widest range of backgrounds. The panel will have its first meeting in mid-March with subsequent meetings each month until October. Meetings will, in the main, be held remotely, and we expect them to last 2 hours. Between sessions, there may be additional tasks to complete, but we do not expect these will interfere with your other commitments. The programme will end with a presentation to Government in October 2021. Depending on the national lockdowns, the panel will aim to meet in person in London for this final session. Travel expenses will be covered.

If you are interested in being part of this panel, please send us a three-minute video application. Alternatively, we are also happy to accept written responses. In your application, you should respond to both of the following questions:

  • What experiences have you had or what are the things that you have done that would make you a brilliant member of the panel?

  • What is the one change you would make in your town and why?

To apply, please visit: https://airtable.com/shrtk1iB5gP6a703D

Applications are due by Friday 26th February 2021.

If you have questions, please email us at [email protected].

Videos and all other information provided as part of the application will be used only as part of the assessment of applicants. We will not use them for any other purpose, and we will delete them once the application process has concluded.
